The A -General Engineering trade study book is a physical study book shipped directly to the customer for contractor exam preparation. Applicants preparing for the A classification trade exam should focus on subjects such as planning and estimating, earthwork, grading and excavation, underground utilities, paving, concrete, structural work, equipment operation, and jobsite safety. Please be sure to study all of the practice exams. It is important to read and understand each question, and read every word of the explanations. It is necessary to learn the principles behind the question because the State’s questions may be worded differently.
Do not memorize the sample practice exam questions. This is a multiple-choice examination with four choices per question. Some questions require mathematical computation. Examination questions are written to provide only one BEST answer and are NOT written as trick questions.
There is no penalty for guessing. If you are unsure about a particular question, it is better to try to answer the question than to leave the question blank.
