Contractors License Guru Referral Partner & Affiliate Program Terms and Conditions

Last Updated: November 6, 2026

Welcome to the Contractors License Guru Referral Partner Program (“Program”). These Terms and Conditions (“Agreement”) govern your application for and participation in the Program operated by Contractors License Guru (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

By checking the acceptance box on the affiliate registration form or participating in the Program, you (“Affiliate,” “Partner,” or “you”) agree to be bound by the terms set forth below.

1. Enrollment and Manual Approval

  • Application Requirement: To become an authorized Referral Partner, you must submit a complete application through our official affiliate registration portal.

  • No Automatic Enrollment: Submission of an application does not guarantee acceptance into the Program. All applications are reviewed manually by our Affiliate Management team.

  • Approval Status: You may not promote Contractors License Guru as an authorized affiliate, access referral tracking links, or earn commissions unless and until you receive official approval confirmation from us. Purchases referred prior to official account approval are ineligible for commissions.

  • Right to Reject or Revoke: We reserve the right to approve or reject any application at our sole discretion and to suspend or terminate any Affiliate account for violations of this Agreement or conduct we reasonably determine to be harmful to our business or reputation.

2. Qualifying Purchases and Commission Structure

  • Fixed $50 Commission on One Specific Service Only: Approved Affiliates earn a flat $50.00 USD commission for each Qualifying Purchase of the Complete License Application/Document Preparation Service.

  • Excluded Products and Services: All other products, services, packages, add-ons, consultations, study materials, or renewals offered by Contractors License Guru are excluded from the Program and generate $0.00 commission.

  • New Customers Only: Commissions are awarded exclusively on the first completed order placed by a brand-new customer of Contractors License Guru, provided that the order includes the eligible service. Purchases by existing customers, returning clients, or customers with prior order histories are ineligible for commissions.

  • No Lifetime or Recurring Commissions: Commissions apply only to the initial Qualifying Purchase. Subsequent purchases, upgrades, or renewals by the same referred customer will not generate additional commissions.

  • Single-Tier Structure: This Program is strictly single-tier. Affiliates do not earn commissions on sales generated by other affiliates they refer to the Program.

3. Referral Tracking and Attribution Rules

  • Unique Referral Links & Assigned Coupons: Once approved, you will have access to your Affiliate Dashboard containing your unique referral tracking link and any custom coupon code expressly assigned to your account by Contractors License Guru.

  • Cookie Attribution Window: Referral links use browser cookies to track visitors for 60 days from the click date. To qualify, the referred customer must complete an eligible purchase within this tracking window using a browser with cookies enabled or enter your officially assigned affiliate coupon code at checkout, where supported by our tracking system.

  • Referral Attribution: If a prospective customer clicks multiple affiliate links or uses an assigned affiliate coupon code, attribution will be determined by our tracking system settings as configured at the time of checkout. Our tracking records will be used to determine commission eligibility, subject to review for any documented errors or discrepancies.

4. Prohibited Referral Activities (Self-Referrals & Duplicates)

  • No Self-Referrals: You may not use your own referral link or assigned coupon code to purchase services for yourself, your business entity, your employees, or members of your immediate household. Self-referrals are ineligible for commissions and will be rejected.

  • No Duplicate Orders or Split Transactions: Only one $50.00 commission may be earned per Qualifying Purchase by a new customer. Attempts to split orders, create duplicate accounts, or manipulate checkout information to generate multiple commissions for the same customer may result in forfeiture of commissions and immediate account termination.

  • No Unauthorized Coupon Sharing or Ad Bidding: You may not post your referral links or assigned coupons on public coupon-aggregator websites, nor may you bid on “Contractors License Guru” branded keywords in paid search campaigns (e.g., Google Ads, Bing Ads) without prior written authorization.

5. Cancellations, Refunds, Chargebacks, and Failed Orders

  • Paid Orders Only: Commissions are eligible only when a customer’s payment has cleared and the order has reached the required paid or completed status. Orders that are Pending Payment, On Hold, Failed, or otherwise unpaid do not qualify for commissions.

  • Commission Reversal: If a referred order for the Complete License Application/Document Preparation Service is canceled, refunded (in whole or in part), disputed, or subject to a credit card chargeback, or if the transaction is determined to be fraudulent, any associated commission will be rejected or reversed following review.

  • Clawbacks After Payout: If a commission has already been paid and the underlying customer order is subsequently refunded or charged back, we reserve the right to deduct the $50.00 commission from future unpaid commission balances or request direct reimbursement.

6. Holding Period and Manual Monthly Payout Procedures

  • 30-Day Holding Period: All earned but unpaid commissions are subject to a mandatory 30-day holding period beginning on the date the qualifying order is completed. This period allows for order verification, service initiation, and refund or cancellation review.

  • Manual Monthly Payout Schedule: Commissions that have cleared the 30-day holding period and remain in good standing are reviewed and processed manually once per month by our management team, typically within the first 10 business days of each calendar month for commissions that cleared the holding period during the previous month.

  • Minimum Payout Threshold: Your cleared, unpaid commission balance must reach at least $50.00 USD (one approved Qualifying Purchase) to be included in a monthly payout cycle. Balances below the minimum threshold will carry forward to the next payout cycle.

  • Payout Requirements & Tax Compliance: Payouts are issued through the payment method designated in your Affiliate Profile or agreed upon with our management team, such as PayPal, ACH/Bank Transfer, or company check. For U.S.-based Affiliates, we may require a completed IRS Form W-9 before issuing commission payments. Affiliates are solely responsible for reporting and paying all applicable federal, state, and local taxes on commissions received.

7. FTC Endorsement Guidelines and Marketing Conduct

  • Mandatory FTC Disclosure: In compliance with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising (16 CFR Part 255), you must clearly and conspicuously disclose your material connection to Contractors License Guru whenever you share referral links, coupon codes, or endorsements related to the Program.

  • Acceptable Disclosure Language: Your disclosure must appear clearly and prominently near the referral link or endorsement, where consumers can see it before taking action. For example: “I am a referral partner for Contractors License Guru and may earn a commission if you purchase a qualifying service through my referral link or code.”

  • Accurate Representation: You may not make false, misleading, or unsubstantiated claims regarding contractor licensing guarantees, state board approval timelines, service pricing, or expected outcomes. You must represent yourself as an independent referrer and never as an employee, legal representative, or official agent of Contractors License Guru.

8. Independent Contractor Relationship, Tracking, and Program Changes

  • Independent Parties: Nothing in this Agreement creates a legal partnership, joint venture, agency, franchise, or employment relationship between you and Contractors License Guru.

  • Tracking Limitations: While we utilize referral tracking software to monitor referrals and commissions, we cannot guarantee uninterrupted system availability or error-free tracking. Tracking may be affected if a customer clears their browser cookies, uses ad-blocking software, changes devices, or otherwise prevents referral attribution.

  • Program Changes: Contractors License Guru reserves the right to modify the Program, including its commission structure, eligibility requirements, and operating procedures, by providing notice to Affiliates. Changes will apply prospectively from their stated effective date and will not retroactively reduce valid commissions earned before that date.

  • Termination and Outstanding Commissions: Upon termination of an Affiliate account, any unpaid commissions will be reviewed for eligibility. Valid commissions earned before termination remain subject to the holding period, refund provisions, and payout requirements outlined in this Agreement. Commissions resulting from fraudulent activity or violations of this Agreement may be forfeited, subject to applicable law.

  • Governing Law: This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
