The C-11 Elevator Contractor trade study book is a physical study book shipped directly to the customer for CSLB trade exam preparation. Applicants should focus on elevator components and operating principles, mechanical and electrical systems, installation procedures, controls, testing and inspection, maintenance and troubleshooting, tools and equipment, and safe work practices. These CSLB classification study materials provide applicants with a focused physical resource for reviewing important concepts associated with the Elevator Contractor trade exam.
Please be sure to study all of the practice exams. It is important to read and understand each question, and read every word of the explanations. It is necessary to learn the principles behind the question because the State’s questions may be worded differently.
Do not memorize the sample practice exam questions. This is a multiple-choice examination with four choices per question. Some questions require mathematical computation. Examination questions are written to provide only one BEST answer and are NOT written as trick questions.
There is no penalty for guessing. If you are unsure about a particular question, it is better to try to answer the question than to leave the question blank. Ample time is provided to answer all examination questions, so be sure to read each question and its four choices completely and carefully before selecting the BEST possible answer to the question.
The C-11 -Elevator Contractor classification covers the installation, alteration, repair, and maintenance of elevators and other conveyance systems. Contractors in this classification work with equipment designed to transport people or materials vertically or between levels, including elevator machinery, controls, cables, rails, doors, safety devices, and related components. The work requires knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, equipment installation, testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, and the safety procedures associated with elevator and conveyance work.
